MoroccoTarifa is located close to the Strait of Gibraltar, transit point between Europe and Africa.

An excursion to Morocco can be an attractive option for visitors in the area due to its proximity and the undeniable attractions as a tourist destination.

Algeciras is the usual port of departure for ferries travelling between the peninsula and the ports of North Africa.

There are two possibilities: take a direct ferry to Tangier or enter Morocco via the Spanish city of Ceuta.

Both options are equally attractive: Arriving directly in Tangier offers the opportunity to experience this marvellous and chaotic city on the Atlantic coast with wild beaches and attractive destinations such as Larache or Asilah.

The route through Ceuta, in addition to being shorter and more economical, permits a few hours to explore this unknown and exotic Spanish city. After crossing the frontier with Morocco the beautiful Mediterranean coast is within easy reach as well as the interesting cities of Tetuan or Chauen.

While taking the car will give you total freedom, another option is public transport, which works fairly well, especially the shared taxis which are a bargain when compared to Spanish prices.

Some of the most attractive destination in the north of Morocco are:
Tangier: This famed port city retains its lively and chaotic Medina. This is the easiest option from Cádiz and can be done as a day trip with direct ferry service available from Algeciras.
